《深宅》是以深宅老院——乔园地下的宝藏为引线，讲述一段带有悲剧色彩的爱情、亲情故事，其中，“琼女郎”秦岚和“武侠皇后”郑佩佩在剧中上演了一对深爱儿子的母亲，虽然都为人母，但两人性格却大相径庭，白玉兰个性固执，对儿子却百般顺从；乔母视财如命，因觊觎王府的财富而强行把儿子乔日升和有孕在身的白玉兰拆散，做法虽过份，但也是想在自己死后为儿子留下一笔财产。
