故事发生于魔兽始祖弥赛亚被消灭（包括《白夜的魔兽》《红色安魂曲》的时间段）后，依然有魔兽的存在并利人的阴我（欲望）来吞噬人类的肉体以及心灵，前作的主角冴岛钢牙离开了东番犬所，成为了元老院所属的魔戒骑士，在执行任务时被一位神秘的面具人打伤并留下了“破灭の刻印”，故事由此展开……
