故事围绕着两代人的身世、情感展开了一个悲剧：简丽在生下女儿简小单时，丈夫不幸去世。后来简丽收养了被知青廖中秋抛弃三次的女儿圆月。圆月在14岁的时候偶然知道了自己的身世，简丽却坚持圆月是亲生的，于是圆月从此开始产生了逆反心理，处处与简丽的亲生女儿简小单争……于是，一个发生在好母亲与坏母亲之间、好女儿与坏女儿之间、好女人与坏女人之间的爱恨情仇纠葛自此展开……
