昨年３月に死去した渡瀬恒彦さん（享年７２）が主演したテレビ朝日の連続ドラマ「警視庁捜査一課９係」が、新ドラマ「特捜９（ナイン）」（４月スタート、水曜後９・００）に生まれ変わる。新作では、倫太郎の異動で第９係は解散したという設定。第９係のメンバーはバラバラになっていたが、警視総監の指示で捜査一課に新設された特別捜査班に再集結。寺尾演じる班長の下、再び難事件に立ち向かっていく。井ノ原演じる浅輪直樹は今回から主任に昇格。倫太郎の娘倫子（中越典子）と結婚したという設定も加わる。
