总体上讲，《不伦食堂》就是一部加了不伦元素的《孤独的美食家》。男主角山寺隆一和井之头五郎一样是家商社的营业员，在全日本到处出差，奔波劳碌之后会寻找当地美食尝一尝。故事中出现的店铺都是真实存在的，剧中附带其他未出镜的同类店铺推广，附带地址，至于能不能和《孤独的美食家》一样给店铺增加一点热度，就不大好讲了。
