《老来难》，语言通俗，描述细腻，道尽老年人的生活特点和万般苦痛，劝人要孝敬老人，尊重老人，并委婉告诉人们，人人都要经过老年这一阶段，孝敬老人也是尊重自己。过去，有人用这首《老来难》写出一个老人拄杖的画像，形象逼真，农村人贴在屋里，用来提醒人们的孝敬心，久传不衰。
可是，他总不能白跑一趟吧。
