《聊斋3》共有6个故事，分别为《画壁》、《江城》、《梅女》、《白秋练》、《公孙九娘》和《庚娘》，分别由林文龙、萧蔷、张茜、薛凯琪、贡米等出演。据悉，该剧走偶像剧路线，画面唯美，光线明亮，并没有大家印象中的惊悚成分。《江城》中的女主角贾青表示，自己以前看老版《聊斋》时曾被吓到过，但自己拍摄时完全不害怕，“我们的电视剧很唯美，比如我演的江城平时对丈夫千依百顺，一旦打个喷嚏蛇妖附身就会变成泼妇，这个故事中有很多搞笑情节，很像《河东狮吼》，让我也觉得很新鲜。”至于《聊斋3》的台词，贾青称很现代，和《红楼梦》照搬原著不同，“太深奥的话，小朋友们会看不懂”。《聊斋3》的造型虽然是古装，但增加了不少现代元素，很有时尚感。郑亦桐饰演蛇精，她说：“我的蛇精装乍一看是古装，但仔细一看你就能看到时下流行的蛇皮花纹，显得很洋气、漂亮。
