在一个电闪雷鸣、大雨瓢泼的夜晚，相貌凶恶的大马猴和二狗两个坏家伙驾驶汽车飞驰在森林中间的小路上，后座上放着一只他们极为看重神秘箱子。谁知半路突发意外，他们的车子被撞毁，箱子也飞到了森林中央。与此同时，光头强从李老板那里得到一套超先进的伐木工具，他冒着大雨赶赴林间作业，结果遭遇熊大和熊二的阻挠。两只熊抢走了工具箱，光头强急忙追上前去。混乱之中，工具箱和大马猴他们的搞混，被光头强阴差阳错带回家中。第二天一早，光头强突然发现家里多了个小女孩，原来这正是大马猴和二狗两人绑架而来的孩子。

故事讲述在2020年的东京的女主角・中川沙织（中条彩未）在法国料理大赛中胜出的厨师，虽然加入一流的法国菜餐厅，但因为做的料理得不到评价，每天只能洗碟，渐渐失去自信和热情。某天她突然穿越到1964年的东京，与那个时代的西洋料理厨师・菊池隆一（本乡奏多）相遇，并在他的手下修业。和2020年相比，1964年的料理界无论是食材还是调理器具都十分缺乏，然而菊池专心一意做好料理，在旁边看着他的沙织也渐渐了解料理中最重要的东西为何，还有自己作为料理人有什么不足。之后她渐渐从尊敬变成爱上菊池，但因为某事件发生，沙织回到2020年，到底这一切是否发梦？在东京奥运再临的56年后，沙织的恋爱突然迎接终结。
