抗战大片《战地狮吼》讲述了抗日战争时期，某镇武工队英勇与敌人斗争的故事。陈廷嘉在《战地狮吼》中饰演武工队政委曲梅，这也是她第一次出演抗日题材作品。剧中的曲梅，年少经历过苦难，敢爱敢恨，加入八路军后把一腔强烈的爱国之情投入到与敌人的斗争当中。张兴哲饰演的狮子黑赵六，出身梨园戏班，作为远近闻名的花脸名角，身负高强武艺有着侠肝义胆，一张脸谱成为他行侠仗义的标志，他与师妹九岁红杏儿(贾青饰)青梅竹马的爱情让旁人艳羡不已。然而天有不测风云，“狮子黑”赵六先后经历了父亲被日军残杀，妻子被恶徒霸占生死未卜，师弟的背叛与阴谋算计，自己身陷囹圄，受尽酷刑，九死一生。在被八路军解救之后，毅然投身革命，一身绝技、一腔热血组建了自己的“狮子营”，带动起整个晋西北人民奋起反抗日寇和汉奸的热潮和风暴，成就一代抗日传奇英雄。

电影剧本会由侯孝贤和朱天文以及阿城帮忙打造，目前定下的演员只有舒淇和张震，金城武、浅野忠信等人也在接洽中。《聂隐娘》对侯孝贤的最大挑战是商业诉求，他的作品除了出道时候的喜剧片和少数几个片子，其他无一例外丧失了本岛市场，只能走上无奈的国际影展路线。侯孝贤如何在商业导向的压力下保持个人风格以及创作自由，他能作出何等改变将是一大看点。此外由于杨德昌没能完成北宋的追风少年（资金缺口太大），侯孝贤梦回唐朝的侠女传奇更是多出一番意义。
