反腐题材英剧《重任在肩》第六季于2017年5月获得预订，预计将于2021年在BBC1播出。本季的调查对象将是由Kelly Macdonald饰演的Joanne Davidson总督察，她在侦破一起谋杀案的过程中因采取了脱离常规的调查手段而引起了AC-12的注意。据主创Jed Mercurio透露，这个角色将会是AC-12所面临的最为神秘莫测的对手。
