故事讲述四位游客在西藏被卷入一张国宝唐卡的失窃案，与援藏公安、犯罪集团以及各路人马上展开一场事关财富、人生、爱情、信仰的追逐。虽然故事发生在西藏，但该片并不像以往的西藏题材作品一样着重表现民族文化的冲突和融合，也不会渲染高原极地的艰险和神秘，而是以喜剧片的手法，打造一个充满异域风情和文明韵味的西藏，并通过一群极具现代感的角色，给观众呈现出一个既惊险又浪漫的喜剧故事。
