1996年11月30日公开。在全国松竹系剧场上映。出崎统导演的作品。是汲取OVA系列的流动的作品，作为原作没有的剧场用原创故事制作了的东西。音乐由OVA版KARTE6参加的川村荣二担当，主题曲为山根麻衣《Invisible Love》。本作品最大的特点是，包括角色在内的美国风格的设计，以及患者吐血的场景和头部撞击的场景等，利用热敏模式切换演出等。使用了当时最新技术的演出，还有出崎导演特有的“和声”、“阴影”、“入射光”等，真实地演出了人类的“生死”、“苦恼”。再者，2005年末，由手冢真监督再次被电影化做了的作品是黑·杰克二人的黑的医生,不过，内容与本作品是完全不同的东西。再者，在上述的2005年度被公开了的电影的预告里(上)讴歌着「首次的电影化」之上，作为普通的印象这边的电影强，本作品的印象逐渐淡薄(※官方网站的豆知识媒体化作品被记载的这个作品也那个并不是因为被记载而否定。但是因为DVD的出租，所以可以看到。在单元DVD的发售也被做,不过，这边库存完了相继处于入手困难的状况。
