Increasing the backlog queue is usually done by modifying the application's listen () function call and an operating system kernel parameter SOMAXCONN, which is used to set the upper limit of backlog that an application can receive. This method itself cannot be completely considered as an effective method to resist SYN flooding, even in some operating systems that can effectively support super large backlog queue allocation, because attackers can arbitrarily generate datagrams much larger than the backlog supported by their operating systems.
